The highway down the middle of the image is very telling. Gives the impression that it is a long way home, wherever that is. Very telling image. Makes me homesick for another Alaska trip!

Thank you so very much Jack! This was traveling the Glenn Highway , heading south, to Anchorage.

great scene , I like how you used the road to draw direction to the background mountains , good details and sharp focus , nice tree colors on both sides of the road ..

Those mountains in the background look so beautiful. I like the angle that you have given us here with the road going off into the distance. Your focus and lighting are good as well. Well done and thanks for sharing this with us :)

Very cool Capture Pat!
Love the vanishing like perspective, leading lines, the gorgeous fall foliage of the trees framing out both sides of the road and the view of the snow capped mountains in the distance.
I hear there are many bears out that way.
Ever see one?
Great work Pat!

Thank you so very much , I appreciate your review! I?ve lived here all of my life and have only seen 4 bears in the wild all at separate times over the years.

Excellent choice of subject in Vanishing viewpoint.
Diminishing perspective creates great depth.
Pin sharp focusing.
Subdued lighting.
Natural tilt framing.
Good perspective & long depth of field...
Thanks for sharing...

What an awesome road to home! I can kind of see the shape of a lion's head from the back with this view. The colors of the landscape have a nice richness to them and the mountains make a great background.

A beautiful scene. It looks like you could drive forever and still not get home. I like the composition with the snow capped mountains providing a perfect backdrop for the fall trees.

The highway you have included in this lovely scenery works as a perfect leading line bringing the viewer straight into the picture. I also like a lot the warm and golden autumn colors in contrast to the blue hues of the background, and how the low clouds are hanging over the distant mountains.

Your photo is nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the photo, and the exposure is spot on.

The format and framing is very good and the highway is well placed off to the right. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo Pat, and with an excellent DOF.

Very nice composition. I have to admit that I see a little bit of blurring when I zoom in on the bushes. I feel like I am going on an adventure with this photo. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

Pat,
A beautiful picture of the view seen through the winscreen of your car of the road ahead, the snow capped mountains in the distance with clouds skimming their peaks so we can only glimpse them through the mist. I can see why that mountain is called the Lionhean. It looks like a Lion as seen from behind it's face looking into the distance so you are viewing the back of it's head & mane not forgetting it's backside, all that's missing it that long tail with the fluffy end for flicking away flies. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques &sharp focus.
Susan
