I love the power you have crated in this wave. Such a powerful scene with nice movement in your scene. You brush strokes and shading and blending of color is beautifully done. So much beauty created in these many shade of blue. I can hear the power of that wave. A good entry into the Scenes Blue Contest and a good contender. A creative and talented art work. Thanks for sharing. Worthy of a six star!

Very nice depiction of a huge wave rolling on the shore! Your use of color and lights and darks are quite good. Nice composition, blending and presentation. The fine mist painted here is spot on, nice work!

Been checking in on this one more than a few times. Seems my best time for words is early in the morning. So here goes. This is bothersome to me. It is good enough for a five star vote but I see that it should be a six star vote. If some corrections, according to me of course, were done. The upper right downward curve should be straighten out and made the same light color as the rest of the top of the wave. It would strengthen the image. The lower left corner needs more of a curve to add depth and strengthen the illusion of the circular curling wave. That line in the upper left next to the top of the wave needs to be removed. It interferes with the wave crashing dynamic by its distraction. And lastly, the foam in the bottom right should have maybe about fifteen percent lighter and truer white areas in it to increase the visual punch of the crashing wave. For me, that would make this a more powerful presentation thereby making it a six star vote. As is, these are the reasons for my five star vote.

Thank you very much for your detailed review and thoughts. I didn't actually use any white in this, only pale blue for the foam. Normally I would use white but this was for a contest using mainly blue. Suzanne

Suzanne,
A wonderful beautiful loud ear shattering, cold & wet image of the North Sea in a "temper" as it lashes & crashes onto the shore. If I half close my eyes I can see the movement of the waves & hear the whistling wind. Created with very skilful brushwork beautiful choice blending & application of your colours in bringing this scene to life.

Your rendering of sea and the sea waves have always been charming. This one is of no exception. There is movement. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good luck!
