A wonderful piece and great inspiration for the carefully and wonderfully painted features of this hound, especially the main feature you mention in your narrative - the face and that huge big human like smile you have captured very well here. The detail is superb and the facial features are portrayed very well in the eyes and wide open mouth as looking truly happy and reminds me of an old man who is still enjoying life in his old age. Good positioning and colour contrast with the grass and foliage behind, which gives good perspective also. A lovely piece, well done :)

That face and head are just amazing. Beautiful work showing the muzzle...as well as the muscular chest. Your green foliage makes a fine background too. Your shading work is superb and those eyes could not be better.
