Pretty colors and unexpected since the dog is white. That's what I love about this one. Background is nice and rich forcing the dog out from it.. Echoing those colors in the soft fur is a superb idea and brings so much life to the character. Those Eyes! Very touchable using those colors. I want to try something like this with flowers.

Adorable Sesha! I see this look every day when I am off to work..which means my dog will give me this look in about an hour.

Those eyes draw you in and that cute face just melts your heart.
Great fur details and fun to see a new style from you.

Very good entry for the contest. This is a lovely portrait of the gorgeous little dog. Love his eyes and the way you've shown his fur. I also like the colourful background which works perfectly to show him off.

I'd be interested to know what form of mixed media you used for this? Very good light and shading. Lovely composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

Hi, love this painting. He is adorable . You have truly captured his soul within his eyes. The splashes of colour on his fur works really well and adds to the expression on his face I really like the brush strokes you have used to create his silky coat of fur. Looks very lifelike. Great choice of background and foreground colours to compliment his whitish tones. Makes the little dog pop right out at me. well painted. and best of luck in the contest. cheers mel

Sesha,
A wonderful painting of this little West Highland Terrier pleading with you to take him/her out or at least stop what you are doing to give it your undivided attention. Perfect composition, created with love of the animal very skilful brushwork, beautiful choice, blending & application of your colours in bringing the Dog to tail wagging life those eyes are perfect & talking just like my late "Jenny" who live for 15.5 years.

Sesha, is this a photo turned into art? I LOVE it and if it is could you tell me which filters you used? What kind of dog is he?

Those eyes melt one's heart easily.

I took print out of a picture. Cut out the surroundings Added colours. and touched it up with acrylics. Photographed it. Put the image through many filters such as dry brush, watercolour effect, strengthened the already applied colours and added poster edges to the background to bring in some rough textures. Nothing in the order stated. I keep on playing with the image randomly until I get the result more or less matching my vision! Thank you so much for your support. Glad you liked it.

I like the effect very much, you have transformed a photo into art and that is something I have tried to do....and will continue to try (sigh). thank you.

It is frustrating. Lot of trials and errors.
BTW, I understand that this is a West Highland Terrier
