You are so lucky to get this shot! It is unfortunate that Comanche caused a ruckus and you only got 3 of the 6, but 3 is good! I like the alert looks on the trailing two and the first one seeming to say "I am outta here!" Dogs are a wonderful blessing and great protectors, but they can be problematic to a photographer when they scare away your subjects.

Oh Comanche causes a ruckus even when the chickadees are a the feeder Bill. Very territorial little girl. So nice to see you at the end of a review again Bill. Thank you so much for checking this piece out. I do appreciate it.

So, what's wrong with shooting through a window? I do it all the time. Reflections off of the window glass are no problem if one remembers to angle just a little.

From the look of it I would hazard a guess that this is a female with 2 generations of offspring.

The one in the middle is probably in its last year of being close to mom. The life experience gained is reflected in the cautious look over the shoulder. The one bringing up the rear is the yearling and still to interested in what's in front of its nose.

The camera settings are spot on.

The color range is a bit narrowed because of the mono tone of winter.

I know you won't agree but I'll say it anyway - B&W.

A long scale monochrome of this scene would be an eye popper, really!

A great scene with a great story fresh from peglegdeb's back yard - yowza! ... B-)) Bob

'yowza' lol...LOVE IT OMP! ...as well as your very astute analysis of these three guys....which I happen to agree w/ btw. The b&w??? hmmnnn May have a look at it that way just out of curiosity so THAT analysis still open for discussion, OK? You're a peach for having a look at this one and I thank you for giving it one of your very excellent reviews that I always look forward to.

These look like they are slinking around lol, with a watchful eye,,yes we have lots here too, although the last time I saw mine she was being chased by a wolf, yes right in my back yard, and I never saw her again,,hopefully she is ok and just hasnt been around, and of course when the wolf showed up I was in too much of awe at seeing him to take a photo lol

Deborah,
A beautiful picture of these three Whitetail deer watching you as you & Comanche watch them before they run off fearing Comanche will get out to do his worse not knowing he can't get out. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

This is a wonderful shot of nature in winter and the deers!. You have timed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Wow, this is great! Yea, those 2 are really paying attention! The first one looks older. She isn't bothered by the barking. Beautiful lighting on the snow. Nice framing. Thanks for sharing!

Nice seeing deer roaming. In Eastern PA they sometimes take to culling the herd. They did this at Valley Forge. Nice capture of 3 at one time, especially with your dog looking on. Good nature picture.
