Very interesting notes Steve ;) I really like how you captured the flight of this vulture! The wings are an incredible sight in motion. The wingspan looks gigantic. Nice definition of the feathers showing too. Your water looks gorgeous too :)

A great contest entry, a very different looking bird, I like how it seems to hang in mid air enjoying the view, like a stroll along the beach, thanks for the notes which help to understand
The bird and it's environment, great focus and clarity,
Bird well positioned in the frame with space in front. Good luck in the contest.

a cyber six steve for this fantastic capture of a bird in flight; and moreover a vulture on a beach: never seen before; I Wonder what he is looking for; maybe a dead fish ?

Thanks Fred. Yes there are dozens around the beach here in Mazatlán picking at dead sea life that washes up on shore.

This is a most unique image,a turkey vulture flying along the beach,a forboding specter of death;I like "Harry Potter", so when we see some of these riding the thermals,or "kettling",we call them "Dementors"-lol! This is a great photo of a "TV"on the wing, nicely shot against the backdrop of the ocean, the powerful wing strokes echoing the power contained within the waters of the Pacific, darkness against the light. The ocean has beauty in the rise and fall of it's waves, the vulture as it soars and glides on the ever changing air currents in the skies above.Your image is nicely framed, with sharp focus and excellent depth of field.Your model may not be the prettiest, but you cannot deny the strength and beauty it exudes as it soars through the heavens above!

Honestly LeeAnn your reviews are Poetry in motion. The ebb and flow of your words are like the sea, gently wafting in ever changing patterns. I will not tell my model that he is not the prettiest, as he put on special make up just for this portrait. But I guess you simply cannot put lipstick on a pig. Thank you so much again LeeAnn for your Grand review and commentary ~ Steve

That certainly looks like one heck of a bird! It certainly does not patrol the coastline of the UK! Your fine composition offers a grand action view of it. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!
