Hi Meg thanks for sharing your beautiful photo of the fall Hydrangea .. Fabulous exposure and the lighting is spot on. The many petals of mauve hues are welcoming sight and pleasing to the eye. such sharp focus allows me to stare right into each of the petals and note the colour variances and the veins running through them. Excellent angle to allow vision of both the top and underside of both petals and leaves. I like the inclusion of the green leaves in the bottom right corner.. Adds great contrast to the flowers and makes a nice anchor for your photo. The picture shows also the intricate stem structure which attaches the individual flowers together to form the beautiful ball shaped entire bloom of the hydrangea. They are a bonus in the garden with their many blooms and marvelous colour selections. And they can be a surprise when the colours change due to the PH in the soil conditions. Love your selection of flowers to present. A wonderful photo with lovely appeal. thanks for sharing. cheers mel

Lovely color and great detail. The image just feels somewhat out of balance to me. Perhaps a more horizontal crop to widen the image and reduce the green on the bottom would help.

I did not know it was anything called fall Hydrangea, but perhaps you just mean that the photo was taken in the autumn ? It is a lovely one though, with the dark green leaves and the purple flowers, and I especially like how lovely the light is falling on the blossoms.
Your photo is nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details both in the blooms and the leaves, and the exposure is very good.
The format and the tight framing is working well and I like that the flower is placed at the top nicely framed by the leaves at the bottom. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

The deep greens contrast so nicely with the delicate shades of purple on the blooms of the hydrangea (? I'm guessing) Your cropping of this piece bringing it in up close enhances the visual impact.
