You got so close that even the texture of those horns is rich and full of great detail. Your colors are nice too and the light in the eye looks good. I really like how the whiskers show and the tiny fuzz on the horns.

A very fine tightly framed composition. The detail in the antlers and eye is very good and the colors are excellent. Best of luck in the contest.

Does the state of his antlers including how big they are tell you this is a yearling? I thought they shed their antlers every year and grew new ones. Nice composition, well framed and a good entry for the contest. It was an aesthetic choice whether or not to keep the leaves, to blur them or to mute them. Not sure if I would have blurred the leaves not covering the buck. I am not a photographer, so, what do I know? Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

I apologize for not leaving complete notes, which I have remedied! This buck is a year old, having been born the previous year, so us referred to as a yearling-this is his first set of antlers. Thank you so much for lookling and leaving a great review!

A lovely capture of this yearling buck
Sharp focus and clarity helps to see nice details especially the softness on the growing antlers,
Nice eye clarity,
The bucks stands well defined against the natural foliage. Nice contest entry.

Comment from Life is but a dream.
A lovely portrait of this buck with good sharp focus where even the velvet on his horns is visible, excellent.
I like the portrait orientation on this presentation and how the animal has been captured surrounded by nothing obstructive. Showing the beauty of his environment in sharp focus makes the image richer.
I bet when you shot this and saw how beautiful it came out it made your heart skip a beat.
