Long Lake in the fall

Another nice lake reflection photograph, this time reflecting a change in colors from blues and whites to greens and browns. This one reminds me of a lake that runs for what seems like miles alongside a road in Oregon. Forget exactly where that one is as it was a long time ago. Thanks for this sharing this photograph and bringing back that memory. Reasons for my five star vote.

I like how this angle shows off the length of the lake. It shows the length and curves off in the distance accentuating the depth well. I like the bit of color from the brush along the shore.

Pat,
Alaska must be the most beautiful State in the USA if your pictures are anything to go by. Thanks so much for bringing us with you as you photograph these amazing vistas the beauty of this lake surrounded by tree covered mountains sloping down to the water & higher peaks in the distance with clouds struggling to rise over them this beauty then reflected on the mirror still water. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Absolutely beautiful. The composition, I think, is very strong as my eye is drawn into the image. The reflection adds to the interest. Exposure is also very good with only a portion of the difficult overcast sky slightly bright. Very nice work!

Now, this looks like a beautiful painting. The water is so still, it looks like glass. The reflections are crisp and clear in the water. This is so beautiful to look at, I can't stop staring at it. You are a very talented photographer. I'm giving you a 6 because it is really nicely shot and presented.

Your photos always look like paintings. I think it is a little fuzzy. Please check. Very nice composition that is well framed. Harmonic and balanced. Nice job (again). Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

wow alaskapat,, this is stunning. . in every form. from the billowing clouds overhanging the mountain peaks in the background.. to the foreground of that same cloud cover's reflections in the peaceful calm river below. Such undulating plains of luscious green hues, nicely covered with trees and shrubs of varying shapes and sizes. The conifers that stand tall amongst the greenery boasting their deep dark green foliage and creating a wonderful contrast on the slopes and in the reflections upon the water. Excellent exposure and spot on lighting in your capture with great depth of view. Love the angle used . it provides a feeling of distance as the river narrows towards the background and into the mountains .. I especially am attracted to that band of yellow gold reeds that line the river bank, neatly bordered by a tannish red tone at their base ..That vibrant colour along with its reflection on the water is eye catching in every way. Adds a real touch of beauty to the view. and is perfectly balanced in the scene. The waters shiny surface has truly made the reflections of the trees, mountains and the sky work wonders for eye appeal.. there is an interesting formation of rocks on the left centre of the photo. no idea if it has a purpose , but adds a nice spot of contrast along the embankment. An absolutely superb scene alaskapat. thanks sincerely for sharing more beauty on your side of the globe . a real treat and a joy to review. cheers mel

Thank you so very much! This lake is about 3 miles long and if it?s a calm day we always stop here on our way up north.
