You surely got close with all that detail of his feathers coming out at us. Nice collage and I like the green background "canvas" as it makes the photo look natural.

Olga,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this puffed up Goldfinch.

A coldfinch, you might call it Susan ;) Wow it really is fluffed up to the maximum, it does look like it was feeling the cold (or possibly trying to impress/defend?). A nice collage here showing various shots from different angles and positions, the short DOF great on all of them showing basic green or brown foliage/grass b/g, the smaller pics are a little harder to see and the focus is softer but it's understandable given the circumstances. The colours and patterns captured are great however, and an interesting layout showing the puffed up bird and making one wonder.....I hope it was ok afterwards!! Nicely composed and an interesting brief collage making up this story, good work :)

Ed,
Thanks a million for your great review on this puffed up Goldfinch that I though was VERY sick until I saw it fly off & then land "Normal" size & then puff it's self again.. I may post the pictures to an aptly named gentleman in Birdwatch Ireland called Niall Hatch... to confirm my thoughts.

Yes I would always send these unusual wildlife situations captured on camera to an expert, I've had invaluable details and info from the help of specialists in various fields - did you see my Agapanthus Gnat? I'm so proud of that one (although not confirmed, still a very rare type). Let me know how you get on :)
