This is a stunning scene... and an amazing capture with your camera. You have given nature her credit here with a dramatic play between light and shadows for one. But the colors your have so successfully rendered in this photo are gorgeous. They have truly been mixed by a master artist.. and mother nature continues to share them with you. And yes..it is time she called it quits for this winter weather for you and started enjoying the green sprouts that will be showing on a warmer ground.. Thanks for sharing this magnificent scene!! A framer!!!!

ah Becky....green sprouts. I almost quiver w/ excitement thinking of THAT. I literally watched the snow pack go down yesterday.....will today too. I can see the tips of several large boulders I haven't seen since Nov!!! It's coming....but until then I will take advantage of all Mother Nature- the Master Artist as you put it so eloquently, throws my way. Thank you so much for appreciating this one dear bs.....and for the wonderful review.

My pleasure completely! Where does all the water go when this begins to thaw?

LOL OMG Becky. Most of it runs down the road. I call it my 'Mile of Mud' Will definitely post some of those....maybe another six weeks??

Stunning! You live in a beautiful place. Thank you for trudging through the snow it was worth this great photo opp. The sky is beautiful with its golden and yellow hues. The trees freshly kissed with snow. I agree I'm tired of Winter as well but it's moments like this to remind us to appreciate all seasons. Thank you for that reminder.

I have been known to say Monica that if I die and go to heaven and it DOESN'T look like THIS that I am not going to want to stay there....lol Seriously, I adore my little spot here. Do appreciate you having a look at this piece and thank you so much for giving it such a fine review.

Deborah,
A beautiful picture of this view over your garden with the rising sun colouring the sky gold behind the silhouetted trees " decorated" with fresh snow covering both the trees & your drive between them.
Artistic composition beautiful framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Susan- for some crazy reason your Juno popped into my mind last night and I realized I referred to her as 'Lady Juno'' rather than 'Madame Juno' when I reviewed one of your pieces yesterday....lol Apologies to Juno....and thank you so much for giving my snowy piece such a lovely review. I do really appreciate it.

I agree that this is lovely. That pastel yellow sky is pretty striking. The lower orange clouds which are darker could be fog. The snow is blue because it is in shadow. Nice composition. Well framed. Sharp image. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

Do appreciate you checking this one out Pam. Surprisingly it's not fog in this image....just a really lovey golden glow in the lower sky. I see it every now then....usually before a snowstorm. Thank you so much for the fine review.

I really like the surreal handling of this photograph Deb. Blue snow takes it to another level.

.....and of course you, as an artist know about blue and yellow together.

Lovely pano shot and almost makes me want to be there....I did say almost.

LOL...'almost' ...know exactly how you feel Olga. Blue snow btw sometimes makes me CRAZY!! I am forever adjusting settings on my camera but w/ this piece I didn't mind it a bit.....thought it gave the image exactly the feel I wanted so thank you for commenting on it and giving it such a really nice review. I do appreciate it.

Hi Deborah. well this is certainly a scene worth capturing on your camera. Absolutely gorgeous. You've balanced the photo perfectly , with the driveway nicely centred between those stately pines, boasting their elegance for the world to share. The deciduous trees on both the left and right of the driveway add a nice textural difference in shape and foliage and compliment the more structured appearance of the pines. The golden glow that centres right across your photo is a stunning effect as it sends it golden hues upward into the sky above. I love the way snow hangs on so eloquently to the foliage on the pines. A true winter wonderland Deborah, and right in your own front yard. awesome. Wonderful exposure and lighting gives the picture clarity and appeal. Thanks for sharing your story and especially your photo. I must say, I don't envy you shoveling snow every day just to get in and out of your home driveway. it would wear thin toward the end of winter I am sure.. but the beauty for my eyes is so worth it.. cheers mel

To be honest Melyuki it is easier by this time of the winter to go out on the snow shoe trails the animals and I have created (well, THEY don't wear snow shoes...lol just me) Anyway, easier to use them than it is to get in and out on my driveway. Funny how the snow plow guy dislikes MY road so much....lol He just doesn't appreciate how beautiful it really is I guess. So glad YOU do though so thank you very much for giving this piece such a marvelous review AND a shiny gold star. I do really appreciate it. You are a peach!!!

LOL...someone else told they preferred oranges Mel but 'you're an orange' or 'you're a grape' just doesn't have quite the same ring....lol

Every time you take me down this road I see it differently, and this take is no exception.

The gold sky sure packs some visual impact.

Camera technique/quality is off the scale.

Excellent light management. No easy trick getting this kind of balanced exposure with such a contrast of light values.

I think evergreens were made to hold snow in just the most fetching way.

Great color saturation and contrast - especially in the evergreens.

The framing is eye catching and balanced. I like how the central placement of the road leads you on.

This is the time of the season when one needs to reach deep inside themselves and find that last crumb of mental toughness to finish the last act ... OMP

"This is the time of the season when one needs to reach deep inside themselves and find that last crumb of mental toughness to finish the last act" Spoken like a true Vermonter OMP. Caught some sort of dam viral thing in my lungs last week....just about depleted the last vestiges of 'mental toughness' At this time of the year, believe it or not, I actually look forward to mud season...lol Love that you used the word 'fetching' btw b/c I have to agree....the softwoods around here are just magical looking. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the little foray down my road. I keep trying to figure why the snowplow guy dislikes it so much...lol Could be b/c it's a mile long, yes?? Really enjoy your reviews OMP. Thank you for giving this new piece such a fine one.
