Frozen falls in the sunset

I like the frozen appearance to the falls and how the sunlight reflects on the ground. This is a nice angle with the curves in the road and landscape.

absolutely amazing photographs. I watch building in Alaska most days and revel in the country side. When my ex dumped us, I wrote to Alaska asking for advice of possibility to come out there but received no answer - but the place still fascinates me.

This falls looks great in any light,as this photo proves.Love how the dying light bathes the ice with a subtle glow.very nicely composed to give us a grest view of the sunset. I would have so much taking pictures there with some of my deer skulls-lol! Thanks for sharing this wonderful ice falls-again! :)

Thank you so much! Yes, you could find a lot of different places to put the deer skulls for sure! I really appreciate this super generous rating!

This is a unique and beautiful image. I like how the soft colors reflect onto that patch of frozen water in the foreground. The clarity is so perfect that you can see every little detail, even though night is falling upon you here. You framed it beautifully and of course the lighting is excellent from the sunset. Thanks for sharing this with us. :)

Glad you chose to show it this way also. I also like your composition of showing one quarter of the picture as that smooth colored sky framed in with grey ruggedness. Reasons for my five star vote.

It's another strikingly pretty scene that you've presented us with here,Pat!
It's a very well-detailed photo and the soft Yellow/Orange gleam in the sky is especially pretty!

Sounds like your sunsets are a bit later than ours here in the UK. Your nice traditional composition grants us an enjoyable look at your nice location. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done!

Thanks so very much! Yes we are gaining daylight at about 5 minutes each day!

Very moody shot. I like the contrast between the subset and the gray rocks. I would like for you to lighten the ice falls so that they are more apparent and you can see the textures better. Could probably be accomplished with some selective dodging at about 10-15% so that you maintain the darker feeling of the full shot. Nicely seen.

The perspective in this photo is just breathtaking. What a unique and interesting view of this sunset. I love the light and the frozen falls, the colors are spectacular. If it were mine I would've tried to edit out the highway to give it an all natural setting, but it doesn't take away from the beauty in this shot.
Beautiful!

This looks like a classic calendar photo that represents Alaska.

The warm/cool colors are very dramatic. I like the rugged wall of rock and ice compared to the smooth skyscape.

Wonderfully sharp and composed image. Nice post.
