Since moving to this part of New Hampshire I have not seen a Redpoll. I used to see them by the dozens back in our other house. I do miss them.
A very nice touch framing this little one in natural colors. It sets the bird to the front and catches the viewers eye for sure.
Technical considerations are all well inside the optimum limits for DOF, Clarity, Color, Contrast and lighting.
The DOF is very deep and everything in the highlight is clear and sharp.
This is a very creative presentation with fine visual impact.
The focus on the bird is top notch. I see extremely fine detail in the feathers and especially the eye - nice little catch light.
This is a lovely piece and one to hang in the gallery ... B-)) Bob

Your description of the bird adds much to the photo. Nicely done, with good editing points. Composition, color and contrast all work well together. Would maybe have feathered the frame a bit, but overall well done.

Fritz,
Thanks a million for your great review.
If it had been possible to feather the frame a little more I'd have done so the birds tail was just about 3mm from the edge of the picture.

A beautiful capture of this female finch. I love the unique markings of orange on her forehead. Your good natural light and spot on sharp focus rendered excellent details of the feathers and markings on this little beauty. Superb eye clarity drawing you into your scene. A creative and artists framing. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing.

I like how this angle and pose shows off the color of this gal's crown and her beak. It's a good presentation of the lovely markings and the vignette frames her well.

I love these little birds! I have them here and really love to watch them, it's amazing how they do take turns at the feeders, this is beautifully composed in the oval , I love that it's like looking out through a window that was covered with fog and just this oval shape was wiped clean to reveal this view! I love it!

A lovely little bird that along with the siskins we only see in the winter around here. A nice clear shot with subtle natural colors and a beautiful presentation.

Nice capture of the bird, but the added frame is too big and too distracting
