You're Canadian - what were you doing in Florida? Interesting capture. Magnificent creature. Color and lighting are good. Does make a good initial impact. Good composition and framing. My only comment is that while you got his feathers perfect; his face is a bit blurry.

a nice capture of the eagle landing in the tree, the colours are saturated but natural, good close framing to centre on the bird, if the bird was in clearer focus it would have stood out against the blue sky, you need faster shutter speed to
capture birds in flight not an easy thing, but well tried.

A pretty good eagle shot posted here! Your nice composition gives us a good look at your eagle and what t is doing!! Sharpness and exposure are good. Had it bee pen a little sharper it would have been a 6! Nicely taken.

The American Bald Eagle makes a very interesting subject.
The bad news first - overall the focus of this take is slightly soft.
Now the 'good news' - This bird take is well captured with good placement of the subject in the frame.
The colors are bright and are harmonious and complementary of each other.
Contrast is smooth and even across the entire take.
The side lighting is even on the exposed surfaces.
Here is a spoonful of help.
The head of the bird, especially the all important eye must be sharp and clear. this goes for the feathers as well.
In order to get that kind of detail off a moving bird you must use a minimum shutter speed of 1/2500.
Since all of the elements of this take are in the same focal plane, opening up to f/4 - f/6 would allow a much quicker shutter speed and thereby eliminate all motion.
These factors combined with you excellent composition framing would produce razor sharp feather & eye detail.
Every photographer, no matter how talented, at one time was a 'newbie'. Turn this to your advantage ... B-))

Pity the focus is on the tree and not on the eagle, this takes from the initial impact
nice composition and capture of the moment
thanks for sharing

It is always a magical ahhhmazing moment to find eagles in the wild. You have a nice stop action of the eagle as it is landing, but i am afraid your focus is soft due to shutter speed being too low and perhaps camera shake. White balance is a tad off on the head loosing details.
I am one who REFUSES to lie or give a fluff review. It helps no one.
Bird photography requires HIGH shutter LOW f/stop.
I would have shot this eagle with a shutter speed of 1/3200sec and an F/stop of f/4.5 or f/5.6
Always center meter the birds eye and your shot will be focused.
Nice shot Linda but some adjustments in camera are needed to capture a sharper image.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
