Looks like a very quiet and peaceful place to live. That purple door is very mysterious looking. It looks like a very simple dwelling, but with all that beauty surrounding you what more do you need? Love the framing and lighting. Nice work, again.

Thank you so very much! I was happy to see how well this cabin was kept up, they obviously put the new tin roof on it. These tiny cabins showed me how these people live modestly with just enough room , it?s such a contrast from most of the homes built today.

Pat,
A beautiful picture of this Log Home bathed in dappled sunlight & shadows surrounded by bare branched trees with mountains visible through them. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Pat, there are parts of this image that work well for me and parts that don't so I have mixed feelings. The basic cabin has some interest in it, but doesn't make me go wow. I find the filled in pane of glass amusing especially with the color compared to the reflective glass panes. The purple door works because it seems out of place. The frame of the evergreen on the left is good, but I think more room is needed on the right. Strangely the umbrella table in the background bothers me, it somehow seems out of place and draws attention.
Well seen.

Straight forward photo Pat of this cabin and has that appeal I think to take a b/w photo of it and maybe got a tad nearer,it looks as if the texture in the construction would benefit more from b/w.
Its how I see this on...Brian

I get that 'stepping back in time' feeling whenever I visit my own hometown of Fort Edward,NY,Pat! : D ( There's a lot of history in my nearly three hundred year old village! )
But I digress!

very nice picture of cabin in the woods. What is very nice about this cabin picture is that it is a picture of a well maintained cabin that is used. Nice. I also enjoy looking the bluish color of the cabin resting in the natural colors of the earth. Reasons for my five star vote.

Yes, your fine photo seems to exude a long line of frontier life and exploration. Your full and central composition grants us a very enjoyable look at the cabin. Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely taken!

Thank you so much! These homes are very small, they were built like this so they would be easier to heat.

Amazing to see a true authentic Alaskan Log cabin that is still occupied and gold still panned in the traditional style here. The cabin has a nice neat design and despite it being mainly wood and presumably pretty old it has stood the test of time and weather remarkably well. The bluish/Grey cabin contrasts nicely with the mainly brown foliage with a little green thrown in nicely and helps it it stand out, whilst the trees behind and the mountain beyond gives good perspective and a good backdrop with the white sky. Nice capture and a slice of history too, great work! :)
