Welcome and congratulations on the introduction you have provided with a nice self portrait.Certainly a happy smiley face and with a bit more tonal control between lights and darks this would have achieved a higher score from myself, good attempt

Thank you. Hopefully after I get some learning in I will reach that control. This was my first drawing of a girl from memory. Thank you for your kind review and feedback.

Not bad for a beginner. Hair is well shaped. Good use of line. Symmetry of the face is good. You've started with a difficult subject and done well. Keep practicing. There are many videos on line. One day I'm going to find the time to work on them myself. Portraits are not my thing.

A nice portrait of this young girls... good expression on her face. Very nice facial proportions with good facial features. I love her smile and those eyes and she does exuberant happiness. Your pencil sketch nicely done with good shading and blending of color. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing!

We are very happy to have you here as well and believe me you are already an artist. I would say you did a fantastic job here. The details in the face features are very well done. I like the sweet smile on her face. I really like how you drew her hair. That beautifully curled hair is something I am jealous of lol. Now I have not developed my talents in portrait work yet so am not really the best person to offer advice on this subject right now. The only thing I think I might mention, and this is advice that a teacher gave to me, is to not draw individual lines between the teeth. They said it looks better if you just leave them white across with maybe light shadowing. You can still show off the shape of the teeth through the shadowing in around the mouth. I hope this is helpful and you truly did a wonderful job with this portrait. Thanks for sharing it with us :)

I think that you are on the right path. This is a great first portrait drawing. There are a lot of free resources on how to draw. That is how I learned to draw. You are brave to do this and I encourage you to practice a lot. You will get better as you learn new techniques. I'm really glad to see that you did this. My memory drawing just from my mind and not a reference photo was horrible, but I learned from it. You are on the right track and keep it up. I'm proud of you.

You have the talent & skills in sketching!
An impressive artwork rendition.
Simple creation with carefree informal strokes & textures.
Good compositional style.
Just make some "fine tuning"
In rendering the eyelashes & hair strands...
I know this seems a hurriedly done or quickie sketch but I know this is easier seen than done! I'm also a frustrated painter because I don't have the patience, perseverance & determination of a conscientious portraitist.
I want it done in one sitting session! LoL!
Great overall impact!
Thanks for sharing...

This drawing is really well done. Great shading techniques used throughout the piece. You have definitely captured a "happy " expression. Great job on the hair and her eyes appear to sparkle.
Well done!

Wow! Keep it up! You are an artist. That's pretty good for just drawing from memory. The hair has good flow, the eyes say "Look at me!" And her smile, she looks happy. Really nice. Don't give up! I want to see more.. ;)

Your welcome. You do have talent. Don't give up. If you're new to drawing, try getting some blending sticks. You can find them at art store or Wal-Mart. They're really fun to use and makes shading easy and fun. I'm not sure the name they call them I want to say tortillions. I don't know why but they are fun to use. They got all different sizes.

Thank you that?s awesome. I?m going to go check that out this weekend.
