I grow these too Mike but not in this color....it is quite lovely.
I love the color and uncluttered background you've chosen. It sets the color of the blossom off beautifully. I also like the up close and tight presentation. Was this a large crop?? It almost gives the appearance of being done on canvas but you haven't listed any filters....the thumbnail version is fine while the larger version seems not nearly as crisp.
At any rate, I bet this plant is just gorgeous when it is fully blooming w/ lots of these pretty flowers all over it.

Very lovely. Graceful and elegant!. I have tried several times to grow flowering cactus but with no luck. I will just appreciate them in your wonderful photos. Nice soft colors. great subdued background.

Very nice piece of work. Love the black background as really shows to outline of the flowers well. Also very clear for hand held. One edge seems to have a duplicate exposure that could perhaps be tidied up in editing. Nice submission.

Hi Emhcee thank you for sharing this beautiful photo of the zygocactus flower.. What a stunning capture you have achieved. Love the angle used to truly enhance the joy of viewing the entirety of the bloom. The pistol and stamen at the head of flower are perfectly placed in your well balanced scene. The addition of the rich green foliage works nicely as a contrast to those delicate pink petals and gives us a good indication of the plant which houses this amazing bloom. The positioning of the petals is complex. With the multi layers extending from the base of the leaf to the tip of the elongated flower head. They fold away neatly , with each layer forming a skirt around the central part of the bloom. Your well focused and perfectly exposed shot really shows the fine detail of each of the petals... The soft pink hue that fades to white and houses those delicate veins which support the structure of the petal. Love the reddish pink tip at the very top of the pistol. It 'tops' off the beauty of this lovely zygocactus flower nicely. Excellent choice of background colour.. the rich dark hue really compliments the delicacy of the flower and its soft tones.. makes the whole bloom and its foliage really pop.. Thanks for sharing this excellent capture of the ' indoor cactus flower'.. It has a soothing effect on my mind and brings a feeling of joy..
