A pleasant relaxing picture from the great state of Alaska. Nicely composed, with good color and overall clarity. The reflections in the water give the photo extra depth.

What a beautiful photo, it reminds me of old mines here in Colorado, the way they where 25 or 30 years ago before all the population growth. You do a great job of capturing the beauty of the middle of nowhere, I have a bear hunt in AK on my bucket list, that bucket is getting full you know.

This is beautiful landscape photography. Wonderful green surroundings! The clarity of the image is good. The distant old cabin,the green surroundings,, the reflections in the still water in the foreground make it a well composed shot. Well done.!

it looks rather like a week end cabin by the lake, maybe at a good fishing spot;
excellent framing with sharp focus and natural colors;

My kind of place. That sounds like fun to pan for gold. This is a sweet, calm, scene hidden in the lush greenery. I'd love to stay a week there reading and fishing. Great informative notes. Clear focus and sharp bright color. Very good POV and really nice reflection.
Looking forward to our next excursion in Alaska.

    Thank you so very much! I love the idea of spending time in a setting like this too, there is something so special about being near the water !

Is this your guest house? If so can I come visit. Lovely setting and well shot image. I like the reflection in the creek. Did you bump up the color? The greens seem a little strong and unnatural on my monitor. Of course if it was a damp day and overcast that could also change the contrast in the color. Nice job.

    Thank you so much! I wish this was my guest house! This is pretty much the color as I saw it.

Excellent choice of subject on the Third Grid position.
Visually balanced as our right eye is cross laterally drawn to that corner!
Verdant overtone lends a refreshing feel.
Literally a cool shot!

Subtle illumination.
Sharply focused.
Fine structure.
Good perspective & long depth of field...

A beautiful spot that is not at all what I would associate with mining. The composition of this shot is impeccable and the reflection is outstanding.

    This was one of the homes that the miners lived in when the mine was active. Thank you so much!

Looks like this mine was established in a lovely location! What by the way is hydronic mining? Your nice image benefits from having a good composition, fine sharpness with good exposure. Nicely taken!

    Thank you very much! Hydraulic mining, or hydraulicking, is a form of mining that uses high-pressure jets of water to dislodge rock material or move sediment. In the placer mining of gold or tin, the resulting water-sediment slurry is directed through sluice boxes to remove the gold.

    If you look on the right side of the pond, you will see an old canon that was used in the process.
