Beautiful photo, as usual. The bark on the trees really makes them stand out whether leafless or in full splendor. I have river birch's in my yard and the bark on those is what I love about them too. Must be a characteristic of birch trees. Thanks for giving us another look at Alaska. Susan

I love Birch trees too and this is a lovely shot showing the wood. I like all the patterns shown in the trunks, branches and twigs and shadows in the snow. Lighting and focus very good showing great detail in their markings. Lovely composition. Suzanne

I'm right there with you , they are such a bitchen tree followed by the Oak . You know , the hundred year old guy . The massive beast with the trunk of a small whale .
The Birch has been Photograph and painted a million times .

Birch trees are definitely some of the prettiest as they often contrast so sharply against others. I am attempting the inclusion of some birch in one of my current paintings I hope they turn out as pretty as these.

I love birch trees too. But, try as I might, I have never been able to capture a shot that looks like what I see with my eyes like you have done here. The sun coming through the back of the stand of trees is so nice. Your focus and detail in the trees is impeccable. Love this shot! Thanks for sharing.
