Looks like a giant spider on top of a chocolate drizzled mint w/ coconut shavings coming out from the sides; love the colors; the violet and purples jump out well; the green center makes it all pop; good bright background color; good focus, really sharp; kind of resembles its own Sun in a way; nice bloom; take care and stay away from cold weather. Know it's hard in VT.

One reviewer mentioned a scene from 'Aliens' (I think) where some crazy thing jumps on a guys face....OMG...he said the top of this seed-pod reminded him of that scene. Have you seen that movie??? Love your very descriptive review Swimmer....lol you have a great imagination. Thank you again for checking this one out and you are a sweetheart for sharing another gold star!

Proof that flowers can be beautiful even without petals! Your poppy seed pod is full of gorgeous detail as well as color, enhanced by the green background and framing vignette. Can't wait to photograph poppies again this year,if it ever warms up and stops snowing-talk about crappy springs! Thanks for sharing this great photo of an often overlooked, but intetesting remainder of a gorgeous flower! LeeAnn

Oh I think I may like this particular flower even better once the petals are gone LeeAnn. That seed-pod is just fascinating looking. It has snowed a little every day for last 3 or 4 days here.....sheesh ENOUGH already...lol Couldn't agree w/ you more there. That's an excellent review you gave my latest piece and I appreciate it. Thank you LA and fingers crossed for BOTH of us that spring finally gets it's act into gear!

I just love the seed pods of these impressive flowers, and have taken quite a few photos of them myself. The all green background is perfect, and I also like the slight vignette you have added.

The pod is standing out sharp and well defined against the softened background, and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in the pod. I also think the exposure is spot on.

The tight cropping works so well and I like the slight diagonal placement of the pod within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Deborah, and with an excellent DOF.

Great overall impact on this lovely and rare looking flower. Your notes attached were an interesting read. The green background was a great choice as it really makes this seed pod pop. Love the close up focus that reveals the details in the plant.

Deborah,
A beautiful picture of this ripening Poppy Seed head the stamens still attached after the petals have fallen pollen still clinging to some of the stamens in the centre the star shaped pistil tops the still green seed pod. Beautiful composition framing & lights taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
