Very cool image. Great color and clarity showing details and texture. Nice filling of the frame. Interesting to view and pleasing to the eye. Great initial impact as well. Well done. ~Alveria

I really like this capture. It is so not you.

Do you remember the scene from the movie "Alien"? In particular the scene were they are trying to remove the alien from the crew members face? That is the impression that formed first thing when I looked at this shot.

I like the color combinations shown - truly something not of this world.

Extra high detail in the forefront with a nice gradual softening as you move to the back.

Great initial visual impact from a very creative concept.

This is a well conceived and executed capture ... OMP

Did you get my email OMP?? Laughed like hell being reminded of that scene....and you're right...just what the top of this seed-pod looks like, isn't it....lol So...question- this is "so not you" Too dignified looking??? or...??? You gave it a wonderful review...regardless and I do really appreciate it OMP. Thank you so much. Make sure to let me know about email. Had issues for a couple of days and will resend if you haven't received it yet.

Usually you show lots of bright florals in the night - not so much seed pods. Just a different look, refreshing actually.

I hope you enjoyed the complete tale of Mud Season ... OMP

My power was off for a good part of yesterday afternoon and damn OMP I REALLY want to read this but the second version won't open either. Maybe you could just copy it and include it in your email? I have tried everything I could to open this.....it's a no go. So come on my friend, you have teased me long enough. Send it in an email I know would work.

Well this has got to be the most beautiful seed pod I have seen! I know you don't adjust for color and these colors are so incredibly gorgeous! I just love the center with the turquoise and light pink, along with the beautiful star shaped magenta and lovely purple seeds. This is a show stopper
Deborah! SO glad it was a flower! Lol. Seriously this is one magnificent photograph.

Quite a fascinating flower shot posted here! I cannot remember seeing an opium flower before?! Your very full and central composition grants us an enjoyable look at it. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

Well, technically the blossom is gone here Nik.....but I think the seed-pods are the prettiest part of this flower anyway. Thank you so much for the fine review you've given it. Do appreciate it.

Wow,Deb!
This one's a Papaver SOMNIFERUM pod?
It looks like it's just about time to start slicing it and getting to work on producing some Morphine sulfate! ( or some Hydromorphone,or Meperidine,or even a bit of of ' The Big H' as some of the kids call it! : O )
Well, rather than 'rattle on' with anymore semi sinister Pharmaceutil lore regarding 'The Little Hero' I'll close with saying that that's a beautiful picture,my friend!
A very 'Good Show' indeed! ; D

Great Image and well seen. It is a shame that the top of the pod is on the soft side, but you can still see what id happening. Good colors in this shot and a lot of very sharp detail. This is close to being an abstract image. Well seen and well shot.

Oh you mean the back side Charles... I kept looking at the top of the seed pod trying to understand what you were seeing. There was a lot to keep track of here w/ this image lol Always appreciate your eye for detail and thank you for the very fine review you've given my new piece.

I was referring to the very top of the magenta star. where the point is very soft.

Gotcha Charles. Like I said though- I appreciate your eye to detail. Good thing for a photographer to have.

This is such a unique capture of this poppy seed head... It is very scientific for a botanist to study. And also has some vibrant colors that are very pretty. Your detail is amazing... I like your framing as well. That bit of vignette accents that bright green color background. Again... a fascinating capture! Excellent! Deserving of a six! :( Thanks for sharing.

This particular batch of these guys sits in front of a bed of 'DayLilies' Becky.....hence, the bright green background. I was hoping to tone down that bright green just a bit w/ the vignette...and have decided vignettes can be a very handy thing...lol Do not worry about the six- your review says it all and THAT is what I really appreciate so thank you for checking out my new piece AND for the wonderful review.

Oh my, Deb, this quite a specimen for a seed pod and you have captured it magnificently. Excellent angle to really show off all those tendrils and to see that lovely aqua center. Great detail and lighting too. It makes quite an initial impact as if other worldly. Another one destined for the calendars. Ed.

A fascinating capture of this intricate and complex looking poppy head of this specific species, by the looks of it the Caribbean carnival equivalent of the poppy we know lol. Pin sharp clarity and great lighting emphasise the fine details of the flower/poppy head, and the bright purple colours of it's funky hairdo on top of it's green head, with the super sharp fluffy collar of many blue stamen to match. This plant has got style. And I bet it took 3 hours for it to get ready and come out of the dressing room for this photo shoot haha. The green B/G and subtle vignette effect draw your eyes towards the lively plant and accentuate it further. A fantastic and tightly cropped shot of this gorgeous offering of mother nature's, well done :)

Those are all seeds Ed. There are thousands on each pod. Love your review. In fact, laughed out loud at the 'took it 3 hours to get ready' bit! Thank you so much for giving this guy just a really delightful review. I'm sure IT would think it deserved it....but I just really appreciate it. Thank you!

This is not what I was expecting . I was anticipating Mile Of Mud #2 .
How is your river of mud and how's the fishing been ?
Thank you Teach , for the excellent notes .
The colors on your piece are amazing and almost unbelievable . The green turquoise hue is beautiful . The burgundy starfish unit on top is the frosting on the cake .
It's an amazing piece and thank you for sharing this .
John .

LOL I considered posting another from the 'Mud Series' John but thought viewers might need a break. My Mile of Mud is covered w/ several inches of snow this morning! Love your definitions of this guy here...especially the 'burgundy starfish' bit...lol These seed pods are really fascinating looking and I'm so pleased you've enjoyed it....and my notes. Always a treat to have the first review for a new piece be such a marvelous one....w/ a gold star too. You're a doll and I thank you VERY VERY much.
