I like your idea of the living car bonnet Bulldog on the poor old decaying car. Love all the wispy grasses in the foreground and the colours you used. Thank you for describing your procedure in achieving this great image. Excellent use of light and shade. Very refreshing composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

A beautiful picture of the Bulldog sitting on the old style car's bonnet telling the world who is the Boss. Created by very skilful draftsmanship & brushwork beautiful choice blending & application of your colours in bringing this scene to life & the dog to barking & tail wagging Life.

Hi there and thanks for sharing this very cool scene of your own unique car style with its very appealing hood ornament. He absolutely gives your car that finishing touch , making it have character and oh so much appeal. Love the brush strokes used to render the car hood.. the reddish tone, blended well with the darker hue gives it a really rustic effect, adding to its style and giving the car its own distinct personality. The rounded radiator in the front stands out and sets off the headlights nicely.. with that silvery trim forming a good framework.. love the bumpers over the wheels. classic in appearance and definitely placing it in the high end vintage car style.. you have achieved a good 3 dimensional feel in its framework. by use of shading.. Love the brush strokes on the front window of the car.. the oblique appearance offers its own story and the horizontal direction of the strokes contrasts well with the rest of the car.. The visor over the window is a nice inclusion and brings further stylish features to your vehicle. And of course the wonderful doggy emblem on the hood.. a piece de' resistance... indeed. his delightful white fur coat provides a wonderful contrast against the red bonnet.. and his welcoming expression with mouth open and tongue hanging out slightly gives him that happy go lucky pleasing emotion. love the spot on his eye, which just gives him that extra touch of joy. even those little ears flopping over show he is comfortable and enjoying his number one position sitting there proudly.. the sky is well rendered with nicely blended pastel hues giving it a feeling of movement and drifting clouds in the distance. Like the inclusion of the mountains. offering a depth of field in your scene. The whispy strands of grasses in the foreground provide some nice contrasting colours against the red hue on the car and compliment the ageing feeling of the vehicle style. the grassy hillside is a pleasing background tone in greenish hues.. the scene has a warm and welcoming emotion and the car itself has great eye appeal made even better by that wonderful doggy ornament .. such an original and enjoyable entry for the car art contest... thanks for sharing .. it has been a fun and delightful experience to review. cheers mel and best wishes for the contest.

Well done for producing an interesting composition. The addition of the dog as a living mascot is wonderful. The main point I would like to make is that a touch more depth of tone to the shadow areas would enhance the painting. However, your handling of complementary colours, and aerial perspective is very good.
