Nice photo Willie and a worthy win. The light is great and love the tip of the head. One tiny suggestion that we always got hammered on in photography school is to show a bit of the neck and shoulders so that the head didn't appear to be "floating."

Thank you so very much! I know what you mean about floating, I am glad you said so. This picture was really an accident. I was shooting this family and was shooting another child and this guy was just sitting there watching me so I turned and shot. I had no time to check settings or to compose. I loved the looking over the glasses and the fact he is cute.
Thanks again for your comments I will remember what you said about the floating.

I like it a lot Willie, and I think this is a truly great entry for a contest like this. It is easy to see that the pose is natural and I have to smile when I see the way the little boy is looking over his glasses. The dark background is just perfect.
Your photo is sharp with clear details, and I also think you have used the light well.
The tight cropping works well and the boy has got a good placement within the frame. Indeed a charming and well taken portrait, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Do you think his glasses are too big? It is not until people reach my age that they have their glasses on the end of their noses. A great shot with very nice skin tones and a superb expression. Good luck in the contest.
