I like how you've shown the different textures in this lovely painting, Linda and thank you for explaining how you did this. I like the colours you used in this, too. It's good to experiment with different techniques so well done for that. I love how his feathers stick out. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

A fine creative effort. Interesting method well explained. The colours are nicely chosen and I think this will look good when viewed in person. Good luck in the contest.

Very nice job in this experiment. The tissue textures you have created create a very different 3-d feel for this painting. The details are good and add dimension to this work. Well conceived. Good luck in the contest.

I love the fall colors in this. The owl stands out quite nicely from the background. My only suggestion would of been to add a little brown to the owl to tie it all together and make it stand out more from the tree. Still, it is a great work and yes..I love owls also. :)

A gorgeous piece for the contest and good contender. I love the texture you have created in this art work. I love how the light and dark colors of the owl and the tree are so beautifully shown on the warm colors in your background. Good creative techniques ....gorgeous color pallet and contrast in your work and incredible details. I also love the diagonal branch. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing. Good luck!

The textures in this are really interesting. It gives it multiple reads and perspective. I feel almost as if I am looking out from behind the tree and catching glimpses of whats beyond.
Nicely done on the tactile part.
And good luck in the contest!

A very nicely composed piece with great colors. I think the texture is something that you have to experience in person. It does not really carry through in the photo. Best of luck in the contest.

I also texture my acrylics which I am new to. Sometimes heavily, sometimes less so, depending. The available textures are amazing, I run forks through it and rulers etc Only yesterday I was practicing an owl, which I have put on a drawing of someone, you owl some how looks more real as yet. I have honestly never seen an owl. Someone asked me the other day why I only paint cats, dogs, sometimes rats and flying birds, because that is what I see, and people, people, people, being a city girl.

Thank you. Owls are beautiful. We have burrowing owls that nest in some of our parks.
