This is really well done. I would think making a painting from a picture would be challenging but this little guy is adorable. You really brought out his character very well. No wonder he was adopted!

Thank you very much for your kind comments. It is indeed challenging to paint after a photo, but it has the benefit that the subject is not moving. :o)

Your "A Dog Called None" is beautiful, his eyes look so real, I see what you mean about him "begging to paint him", his eyes draw you to him, very expressive, making you wan to pick him up and hold him, I just love him!!!!
Excellent use of colors and the way you did his hair, his hair is very "Terrier like", you can see the texture, you did that very well!
He stands out nicely from the background, you used a good background color and shading,!
I have to give you 6 Stars! :)

That is such a wonderful piece of art - it just makes me wonder just what he is thinking. It is so beautiful.
I usually do straight photography and I usually don't get into this format but you did such a good job on this I just had to comment.

First of all congratulations with the win Cleo. It is not difficult at all to see why this work is a winner. The dog is just too cute and I think especially the eyes are done so well. Full of life and light. I also think you have brought out the textures of the fur in an excellent way, and the background is just perfect with the neutral colors.

Your brushwork is very good, and I also like a lot the way you have used high light both in the fur and the eyes.

The format and the tight framing works really well, and the dog has got a very good placement on the canvas. Indeed a lovely and well done digital painting.

I don't know how you were able to make this guy appear so real. You did such a nice job giving life to the painting. The eyes are expressive and have nice light and his fur has wonderful color and texture.

Interesting story leading to this art.! This digital painting of the dog is very well rendered. Lovely smooth brushwork. Fineness of the features well drawn. The shading is just fine. Overall a very good effort.

Cleo,
A very beautiful & lovable little mixed breed terrier gazing straight at you, ears cocked to catch every word you uttered even under your breath. Created with great skill, knowledge of a dog's anatomy & the ability to convey on your canvas using digital technologies I'm not familar with to bring this little dog to barking life.
