Sesha,
She maybe poor but she is very beautiful her dark eyes looking straight into yours & her dark hair framing her face. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with care & superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

India is known for this, the first thing I read in a brochure once was the number of English women who had been raped there. For myself I always play safe. Had wonderful offers by taxis. No thank you, I will sweat with the others in the collapsing buses, never went out at night unless there were crowds there /present place I live is unsafe, filled with Syrians and Iraqis who wonder round at night/ and so on. When Teaching in China, my university girls /their females are very naive / were wild about India, I warned them. They do not understand that China, organised with a heavy police force around is a different matter. Iam sure it happens there too, but the police catch them very quickly. I felt very SAFE there. We have all learnt that now adays in Europe, we need a large and strong police force, other wise life becomes impossible for females. England is lacking in police protection.

typo- wander round. PM Cameron, because UK Is 2 half billion in debt thought to save money by cutting the police force by one third. Same time we had an influx of thousands of Syrians, unchecked, needing more policing, not less. Three who robbed my home, were all criminals at home too,one a murderer... and slovaks, don't even start me on that one,/Our Lords??? Slovaks were Nazis? We /Huns/ were the only ones who begged Pope Pius, could we save them, christianised jews and the Nazis only took the truly orthodox. only 44% of our one third of our country were jews, Slovakia 98% simple, they were not given ration cards, my grandfather gave his childrens rations to his jewish friends. no ration cards, they had to go robbing for food and were caught. However, considering how they have behaved towards us here in England, using us for Auschwitz illegal experiments banned everywhere, /they are so vulnerable, stateless intelligenzia it is for the future of Britain's rise/ I now think differently to my grandfather- the jewish Lords are malevolent and nasty /see facebook: Fletcher Bounty.. I think LOOK AFTER YOUR OWN FIRST. The British have a different bee, sex with tots!!!!

I am moving to Germany next month, ten minutes from the Austrian border.. what they have done to my sons is sick and carry on doing to them. The british, by not recording anything, get away with worse stuff than anyone, strapped my sons genitalia when in teens, so they have an undeveloped groin.. ''you will never have grandchildren, my- Jewish chap;- grandchildren will rule England'' and so they have, not that we ever wanted to. No law permitted us, no medicine of any sort permitted us. They had an Irish descent father so what do you want? Enough, I want to live in a country with a police force for its citizens, good or bad.

Such a beautiful portrait and such a beautiful poem to go with it. It is just so sad that things like this still go on in the world in this day and age. Will we ever become truly civilized. So well done, Seshadri.

A very powerful portrait. The set of her jaw and the defiance in her eyes is superb. I think the starkness of her situation is captured very well in black and white. Best of luck in the contest.

A very good entry into the competition posted here! Your fine full and almost central composition grants us a good look at your disadvantaged one. The expression you captured speaks of a young one who has seen and experienced things way beyond her years. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

This is the first piece that I have seen from you that is different, I am used to see all those colors that you use. It is a crying shame that there are children in this world that we live in that have got to grow up in poverty and child abuse and some parents just don't care about them, I guess that society will take care of them but we know better than that. Thanks for sharing this and sorry about the way that I get sometimes I just can't help it because children should not half to suffer. JackJr.

Yes. It is an unspeakable tragedy haunting our country despite the society and the governments doing their bit. But the human mind thinks of devious ways to inflict pain and tragedy on the less fortunate ones! I appreciate your nice review. Thank you so much for your support. Glad you liked it.

This is very sad to view, your poem tells the story well, this is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is too bright causing a loss of detail . Her expression is well captured. It is horrible to hear of children being mistreated and having to suffer! Best wishes to you in the contest!

I like portraits that seem to evoke emotions.

Unglamorous but striking.
The intese stare pierce the heart.

Impressive b&w rendition. Excellent tonal range.
Nice features & textures.
Good lighting & compact framing.
How about cropping a bit more to get rid of that blown out forehead & hair?!?
Just above that dak patch on her forehead....

Best of luck in the contest!

Thanks for sharing...
