This is an impressive photo which shows us that it is indeed possible to live without electrical power, air conditioning and electrical heaters. This simple living has a lot of appeal when it is located in such a beautiful area. The close up capture is intriguing. It shows us the chimney and the staked up firewood nicely. It makes me thinking of cosy winter evenings near the fireplace. The photo is well balanced and nicely framed and has fine natural colors.

Its a fine tiny home big enough for my taste.
Great Head on view, sharp focus, controlled white balance, great details throughout with a gorgeous blue sky!
Nice find and capture Miss Alaska!

Thanks so much! This little town is very simple, mostly all original, only about 200 people live here, there isn?t even a grocery store and there is no school, kids are home schooled.

Nice photo! Helps us to appreciate what we have. Some people like that simple life and happy with it, the others cannot afford to get anything better. Eather way, is a wonderful photo, Pat!!! Thanks for sharing.

I could live there.. well maybe not the out house...
I love this picture. It is peaceful and I am sure the occupants live a much pleasant life then those of us who want the brass ring. You caught it well as always. This looks like it could be in Tennessee.

This is a fne shot of the old cabin! You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

I wonder if they have lined the walls with something. One of the Alaska cabin builders I watch each evening puts the thick lining in then corrugated iron boards over the top, but most build in gorgeous chunky logs which would keep out any storm. But these are weathered planks in this tidy little place.

A very nice shot with beautiful colors. I like the weathered wood in both the cabin and the fence in front of it. A well composed image that shows the simple life in sharp detail.

A nice look at this cabin. I imagine that it will not be long before it is surrounded by snow. I see snow in the background already. It will be an interesting scene in the snow with smoke coming out of the metal stack. Good work in showing a bit of the simple housing architecture Pat. Stay warm ~ Steve

Thanks so much! I plan to go back to Hope during the winter, but will wait until at least February so we have a bit more daylight.

I can certainly see why you liked it - it is beautiful. But I don't think that is nearly enough firewood. I see houses here in Ohio with much more than that. But, still - it is a wonderful picture. Is that a boardwalk over there on the left?
