Horse creating a trail of dust in half rear.

He looks like he could fly! I like the rearing stance and the way his mane and tail show the motion. The dust around his feet is well placed and looks good. I think the stars are also nice.

these horse portraits are ruling the roost. just a very good and lovely representation; of this holy and magical creature. lovely work and is truly an incredible posture. my favourite horse (national hero) 'amberleigh house' was in fact tiny (around 15 hands) and with a very short neck. your horse is just as beautiful and graceful, with that curvaceous neck line. is like he's bathing in a sweet water pool, though is a creative desert location.

Thank you so much Mr Jones! I was looking at photos of Amberleigh House on the Internet to see if I could find a side view conformation photo of him without his blanket on, but have not found one. I did find one that gives the impression of a long curving neck that I will email you just in case you haven't seen it. As a sideline the conformation of winning equine athletes always interests me because of the theory of structure versus "heart" and so on. A sporthorse with a high rump puts needless stress on the front legs, short cannons don't break as easily, a long neck allows for greater forward momentum, hocks that are too straight are poor shock absorbers, hocks to angular impinges on the horse's reach when the rear legs are extended, and so on. There is more on that topic! All this figures a bit in my art, some of which is also based on photos of my Arab stallion who grew to be very tall and long-legged for an Arab horse. Before my colt's shoulder was broken by another horse's kick, I had planned to try to get support to race him as he had ideal structure for racing. Most most horsemen did not think he was a purebred,. They often thought he was the National Show horse breed, which is half Arab and half Saddlebred! The National Show Horses used to be generally more outstandingly elegant than many purebred Arabs -- not sure what kind of "poodle show horses" they are promoted to be now. I am not really a fan of the cult of popinjay Park Horses, as these horses are also capable of walking on rice paper without breaking it, rounding up cattle or climbing the trails, but instead they often get locked in dark stalls with no life that benefits them "personally" at all! Steeplechases such as the Grand National are merciless and inhumane in a different way, yet only the epitome of equine athletes compete and win there -- a great testing ground for breeding stock. I love reading about the Grand National and would love to see it some day. I assume Amberleigh House was a stallion, not a gelding? I hope so! He has a fine physique I would still love to see all of without a blanket! Amazing that a small horse could hold his own on such a course over larger horses. Trotting stallion Lakewater Glory was also a small horse. There is a theory that it takes a large horse's blood longer to make the trip to and from the heart, making smaller horses more vital. This theory goes to explain why ponies are so vital and cantankerous! Amberleigh House certainly looks vital -- he looks like he has it all -- optimum size, "heart of a winner" and ideal structure! When I get the time, I would like read more about him! Daphne Oberon

Thank you Galia, for you many reviews, but I am going to request that where you give less than five stars, in all instances you explain the deficit, otherwise I do not learn or benefit from the review. Thanks, Daphne Oberon
