I had to read your post to understand what I was seeing. It looks like an abstract painting and makes for an interesting shot. Lighting is good.

Quite a different look. The falling snow shows up nicely at this slow shutter speed. I am not sure that I like it but it does have an abstract quality about it.

Great job, SG. It does look very abstract and almost surreal. Also looks very cold. Personally, I'm ready for some springtime weather. I've had enough of the cold and snow.

a very interesting and unique capture, it does have a abstract feel, like the details and depth and the motion in the snow,
we had 8 inches on the 20 jan, on the 23 it was 44 and rain,
a pleasure to look at, thank you for sharing, dale

Nice! I like the abstract look. The low shutter speed does give the snow flakes the appearance of being kind of stretched out. I like it! Thanks for sharing.

Fred,
A beautiful stop action & finger tingling picture of the snow falling fast, your long exposure following each snow flake on it's downward journey just as the eye would see them on a quick glance with the trees & bushes in your garden in the background & a glow from the sun seen though the gaps, Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Yes, you're right, that slow shutter speed gave this the appearance of an oil painting. That was serious snow. It's hard to make out anything but the continuous streams of white snowflakes 10 feet long. That brings an interesting effect. This would make a challanging jigsaw puzzle. The more I look at this, the more I like it
