You certainly did achieve that dark and almost eerie look in this one. I like the detail in the foreground and the swirling colors behind it. Nicely cropped and artfully composed.

So apocalyptic of you FS!
This makes me think of a lethal
Gas which vaporized and charred all living things in its path. Outstanding work in artistry creating this scene.
I especially love the small touch
Of color with what looks like black and white and combined.
Deadly, but extraordinary in its
Visual impact and mood.
So well done!

Visually quite a stunning image of this rather apocalyptic scene, charred remains of a tree, surrounding devastation, all framing the hellish colored vapors emanating from the bowels of the earth.Excellent use of filters to give this such dark and sinister feel. A view of Dante's Inferno- 'Abandon hope all ye who enter here.' Excellent! (I think it could use a deer skull...) ! :)

Thank you so very much for your wonderful review and commentary. Yes it does remind one of The Inferno. Great idea about the skull. It would definitely look very cool as a semi-charred remnant either in or very near the dead and twisted tree. If I knew how to layer I would play with that idea. Thank you for your Very Generous rating. I am honored ~ Steve

I don?t know how to do that, either, let alone do what you are able to do! Come to think about it,I have a buffalo skull, now that would look COOL! :)

Wow Steve! My initial impression is that this is a picture of The End, the foreground looks like the burnt remains of a fire, the fallen snagged tree has the look of being burnt , the distance shows the glow from a deadly fire with the thick charcoal colored clouds of smoke, that pink tone in the center to me feels hopeful, this is very well photographed with excellent use of filters to create this incredible scene! I can see this as a huge poster for a movie about the destruction and end of this location. Well presented,

This landscape does not look like Yellowstone anymore. You created an ethereal landscape with your filters. This landscape looks gloomy and threatening, like a landscape scorched be a lethal disaster. Nothing seems alive. Deadly fumes escape the ground and rise to the sky. This creation seems a warning to humanity of what could happen if we are careless. The creation is excellent composed and framed.
