Lucien two distinctly different pigeons assuming the same pose and this being sort of a memorial for death. You artistic ability shines through. I do agree with you it is hard to do a memorial for a dead pet. Ray

I studied a lot of different pigeons, including Fantails, at the yearly show sponsored by the LA Pigeon Club.
Thank you for having stopped and looked and then leavings your comments on my drawing of these two Fantails.
Yes, the challenge was creating a composition that gave them equal billing, seeing how the one in front, Frances was deceased.
Also, always an honor to receive this kind of praise on my work from you.

This a beautiful picture. Pigeons always think of them as being dirty and think negative thoughts about them. I think they are cool. They are no different than any other bird in the wild.

a squeaker is a young pigeon that has just left the nest and has learned to eat on its own, and at that age is very easy train.

I used prismacolor pencils to draw this one, and used the layer technique along with their blender pencil.

yes, paper does make a difference, as does the type of color pencils you are using, mixing brands also adds twist and challenge in creating a cohesive drawing. that is why I practice in my sketchbook a lot, to try different techniques, and combinations, before going to a final drawing. practicing is what makes you better. and tacking class now and again helps as well.

pleased to read in your review of my drawing that you like my drawing of these two fantail. They are different in their coloration, as well as in their personalities with Francis, the darker one being more calm ( who is diseased) and Clarence a little more aggressive in very loving way.

Again, very good job. I love birds and my brother used to draw them all the time so I quite enjoy looking at pictures of them. This picture is very well balanced and interesting. I like how you made the pigeons different colors instead of making them the same it keeps the picture from being boring. Bravo!
