This is super, and grabbed my interest immediately. Love the vivid colour of the sky. The detail of the figures and the landscape against the more serene style cloud and sky, work so well. So much texture. Love it Carl! I am so glad your friend did too. :D

I think this is perfect. It is traditional cowboy stuff. I think your colours are very wild west. You have captured the spirit of the territory. Your composition is appealing and balanced. Lots of details to explore and enjoy. I especially lije the face on the guy up front.

I really enjoy the sky and clouds you have rendered, the textures are great and realistic! The cowboys are well shown and I like the depth you have rendered in each one. The cowboy farther back gives some nice scale and added depth. Nice work here Carl, I am glad she loved it!

Vivid colors make the scene look authentic. Strikingly sharp colors against the blue sky and the horse in motion. The clouds look real, photograph, like a photo.

Thank you very much for your six star vote and your comments. It took me years, and I am still learning, how to paint the sky. It has to be distant and up close and personal at the same time. I think I have discovered the key. The strikingly sharp color comes from observing land and plant colors when I lived in Santa Fe New Mexico. Santa Fe is at elevation 7,000 feet. The air is thinner, cleaner and almost always brighter than anything on the eastern seaboard as well as most of the US, well except for Montana and the Dakotas. It pleases me that you enjoyed looking at this painting.

Wow this is really great. I like how you put in the detail on all the right places. The smoothly textured sky balances out the rocks and cliffs. I also like how you got the details on the guys on horseback. It looks like you really took the time to work all these parts out.

what I like most about this painting is your sky,the clouds look more lifelike than the horses and the characters sat upon them as they come across more cartoon format,however,a good structure and composition retains a score of 5 from me
