This is such a wonderful summer scene and a great entry for the contest.
I love the sky filled with clouds and the sailboat on the lake, the sailboat is placed perfectly in the frame . This is well focused, this image is clear, exposure is managed well, the colors and tones are true and natural. Well composed and presented!

This is an awesome shot! Love the clowds. They're in multiple layers. The sailboat adds more interest to the image. Perfect composition! Excellent depth and contrast! Impression of fresh breeze and summer! Pleasure to review!

Lovely cloud work in this Sgoolsby. :) A little blown out in quite a few areas throughout them all - possibly could be corrected but probably easier in hindsight, had it be taken just a little underexposed to allow the white balance changes, post. But their shape and form is delightful! (Just re-read and saw, taken with phone, which explains the blowouts - when the phone creates the jpg it deletes so much of the details, and doesn't allow for that sort of manipulation afterward, bummer!)
Thoughts: Perhaps a little crop off the bottom (water) and the right hand side, allowing the yacht to sit on that 'third' line would work compositionally, but still keeping all of the billowing clouds in. But overall, nice photo.

Think the sky makes this,however because the horizon is not level it tends to take your eye from them,also think the boat just needed to be on the left more...Brian

The photo is however sharp showing clear and well defined details in the boat, and both the exposure and white balance is very good.
The format you have cropped the photo into works well, and the boat has got a fine placement within the frame. I think this is an all together lovely and well taken photo with a good DOF, but in need of adjustments. Still I wish you luck with the contest.
