Congratulations, Bob, on your 300th post, that's amazing!
This is a stunning, technically perfect image that is your trademark.
The color intensity in both flower and leaves is remarkable. I especially enjoy the movement in the leaves along with the lighting variation among them.
Beautiful!

Hi Bay.. Whether by the hand of God or that of evolution the beauty of a blossom is such that it rightfully commands excellence from the portraitist.

Milestones - Odd how they pop up more frequently as we age. thanks Bay it is greatly appreciated and thanks for the review and the stars... Bob

This Dogwood flower is just perfect and very pretty, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like the green leaves with droplets as a background, and the flower is standing out from it in an excellent way. The faded bloom in the upper left corner is however a bit distracting, and you should try to get rid of it.

Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details both in the leaves and the center of the flower, and the exposure and white balance is perfect.

The format and framing works well, and with the flower off to the left, it is a very good balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and without the left corner bloom, I would have given you 6 stars Bob.

Annie this is the third time I can recall when your practiced eye pointed out the obvious to me and I am in your debt - thank you.

I was so engrossed in the editing of this piece my attention was completely on the center and right side foliage - I never saw it until you and Christine mentioned.

Thanks for the great review, the stars and the eye opener... Bob

You are more than welcome Bob, and I can see that you have got rid of the other flower. Now it is a perfect photo in my opinion.

a wonderful close up Bob of this white dogwood flower; I like the very sharp details of the flower and leaves and the creamy color of the flower;

Hi Fred.. The great filtered sunlight is the artist here - it was rare.

Thank you so much, for the excellent review and outstanding six rating! I'm glad you liked the post ... Bob

A beautiful capture of this lovely white dogwood. The focus is spot on to capture the detail of the main bloom so clearly and throw the background into blur. The contrast of the soft creamy petals against that dark green foliage is joyful to view.

Another stunner Bob! But I would expect nothing else from you!
The focus and dof is extraordinary giving amazing detail throughout.
Excellent exposure, I love the slightly muted tones.
I find the second flower in the background a tad distracting though, and wonder if a bit of cloning might have kept the eye on the main subject - but that's a very minor nitpick, and solely my opinion, it's still a great photo.

You know what charlotte? I never even saw that bloke until you mentioned it. I was so excited with how this turned out I never noticed. So I took your advice and cloned in some greenery, take a peek.

Thanks for the review, the stars and the pick up, I owe you one... Bob

Ha ha you don?t owe me anything Bob, it?s more the other way around with me asking you technical questions all the time!
It looks really great now and my eye is definitely staying on the flower - oh except of course while trying to determine which leaf you cloned, I spotted it in the end, but it took me a while!

Congratulations on your 300th post and I do enjoy the Wolfeboro Dogwoods, especially the larger front one. I did not know any of the dogwood species. You have captured this one so clearly. Fine work, Bob.

Hi Glena.. This tree is a common species purchased from a landscape business. It was planted in Wolfeboro. Sorry if I mislead you.

However, I'm glad you liked the post. Thank you, for the excellent review and rating!... Bob

Welcome, artist Bob. I meant the front flower with its nicely spread petals.

What a lovely, perfectly formed and symmetrical flower. She definitely was just waiting for someone to notice her. Great composition and clarity. I also love that the flower is so perfectly uniform while the leaves are all curled and individually different. Nature really is amazing!

I often commented on how I am starting to recognize others works on FAR and I looked at this and knew it was yours before even reading the title. It's a pretty image, nicely taken, colors wonderful and so detailed. Thanks for sharing.

A lovely image of this dogwood blossom. I like the realistic and natural colors, and how you've shown the leaves, too. This dogwood Wolfeboro is not common in my area. Thanks for identifying. A pleasant sight.
