I love the black background on this and how it makes the flower color pop!. It's a wonderful, clear, focused image with the bee in the middle. Thanks for sharing!

This cosmos bloom is really pretty with the light purple colors, and it is standing out so well from the dark background. The light is falling on the flower and the bee in such a lovely way.

The focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in the bee, and the white balance in exposure is perfect.

The tight cropping is working well and the cosmos with the bee are well placed within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Bob, and with an excellent DOF.

Hi Annie.. I set this shot up for a close range tightly cropped HD macro of the center with the white starburst and no coverage to the edges. In that moment when the cameras mirror was moving out of the way this guy lands for a bite to eat.

After he flew away I got back to business. In post processing I found the shots I planned weren't that great and I wasn't going to post any of them. But the one and only one with my Bee buddy was the keeper of the lot.

Thanks for the Six and great review... Bob

You are more than welcome Bob, and you should be very happy that a bee landed on this lovely bloom.

A beautifully framed image accentuating lovely detail in petal edges and bee wings. Great use of bokeh to feature the vibrance of the flower. A wonderful image. Very well taken and composed.

Hi Phil.. Hey thanks for the great review. The Bee wasn't scheduled for this particular shot, but being a Bee couldn't resist a quick snack... Bob

Lovely presentation of this late bloomer as it is visited by the bee. I like when this happens and you captured the moment so well. Excellent presentation Bob and thank you for sharing!

Hi Jirina.. Oddly enough the Bee was not the subject of my efforts. The center structures of the Cosmos was. The Bee being a Bee seized the moment for a quick snack.

Thank you, for the excellent review and outstanding six rating! I'm glad you liked the post ... Bob

Hi Ray.. It was a really weird growing season this time around. I have never had Cosmos blooming this late. Two nights of heavy frost finally did them in on Nov 6.

So sorry it took so long for this reply. Thank you for the fine review and rating ... Bob

A lovely photograph of this very pretty flower with its wonderful insect visitor. I like the clear detail and the way it fills the frame. The colour just pops against the dark background. A great shot!

Hi Freelo9.. "the tiniest blur" is your own heartbeat. Even with a tripod mount, your pulse is transmitted ever soooo slightly. That's why I went to hands free for certain types of exposures.

Thank you so much, for the excellent review and outstanding six rating! I'm glad you liked the post ... Bob

Bob,
A beautiful picture of this pink Cosmos flower with a Bombus impatiens Bumblebee collecting nectar from the flower's center, the light glistening on it's gossamer wings while highlighting the Cosmos pink petals both bee & flower standing out clearly & in sharp contrast to the dark background. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Susan
