This is a wonderful Traditional Art piece of work of your father at 60. I am sure he would have been very pleased! Excellent details and light and shading. I think you should do more of this as you are truly gifted.

This looks like a masterpiece.You are so gifted, Ruth Ann. The facial features are pretty defined. You've drawn your Dad with excellent drawing and shading techniques. I love all the details, even the wrinkles of his shirt. This is SUPERB !

Ruth Ann this is a wonderful rendering of your father in his cap and wind breaker, with the sailboats on the Long Island sound. I have been on the Sound many times in my kayak, I started fifty years ago. So that means your dad and I shared the same body of water. You have a keen eye for rendering and a great attention to details. I like this sketch very much. Ray

Thank you, Ray! I used to go out and about on the Sound in our Boston Whaler but hung close the sw Connecticut shore between Norwalk and Stamford.

I stayed along the north shore of Long Island. with bunker bouncing of the bottom of the boat as the blue fish swam through. Wonderful place and wonderful times. Ray

Thank you so much for your encouraging review and six stars! I truly appreciate it. As I mentioned in my notes, this is pretty much my only foray into the world of pencil and charcoal art. Maybe I?ll come back to it.

Hi Montana, If you hadn't said that drawing didn't come natural yo you I would have never guessed! It might have taken you a month to create this but I bet your Dad would have loved it and thought your were super talented!
