Bob I can't see the hairs on her chin, but I can see the classic beauty of this Wood Pecker. You have used your technique to bring forward the wonderful features of this bird. Than you for sharing your beauty. Ray

A very sweet and endearing visual presented here of this woodpecker I presume. Composition, shades, tones and colours are very well done. Thank you for sharing.

Nice shot of this woodpecker and the out of focus background helps the bird stand out much better,i might crop a tad of the left [just to make it more of centre] but minor point, nice one...Brian

Bob,
A beautiful profile portrait of the Hairy Woodpecker perched on your feeder with a portion of one of the seeds in it's beak. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Here's a fine shot of the bird. You have framed it well. The light, shadows, focus colours, and composition have worked out well. Good effort!

A good looking nature image posted here, together with detailed and interesting notes too! Your fine and classical composition offers us an enjoyable view of that handsome bird and its location. Like the feather detail. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely done!

We do have woodpeckers here in Florida, but not the hairy type. Well photographed against a blurred background, he stands out well. He must be a fledging as he is more fur than detail in his feathers.

A cute hairy woodpecker that still looks like a fledgling. You must a good vantage point to take this side view portrait. Sharply taken and you've framed this well, too.

We have the Hairy Woodpecker here too and I love them because of their size as compared to the downy .
This one is well placed within the frame on the edge of the feeder, well focused, this image is clear , exposure is correct, her colors and tones appear natural, you have brought out such nice detail in feathers, face and beak, I love that little tuft just above the beak.
Background works well to emphasize the woodpecker as she enjoys a free meal!
Well composed and presented!
