Welcome to the site. Good to have new you input .... your picture here is a delight to see and I think I would have been able to give it a 6 had I any left.
The main details are very clear. And I like the bit that you have diffused a bit. I like the colours and the way that you capture the light to highlight certain aspects overall a very appealing picture.

Congrats on your first post and welcome to FAR.

What an incredible shot, especially hand held. Flying insects are hard to capture.
It was fun to see your camera settings such as ISO and shutter speed. Cameras are very good now days, but as photographers we still need the skill of seeing composition and getting the best camera settings.
Well done and looking forward to more of your work!

Great entry. I like the flying bee ready to land in those pink petals. The details and motion are prominent. The colors are natural. You've placed your subject well, too, in this landscape orientation. Wish you luck in this contest.

Hi Mark and congratulations on your very first post here!
This is visually pleasing With the bee up on the left in flight as it moves toward the magenta colored flowers.the bee immediately draws the eye.
Well focused with the slight blur on the wings to show motion, nice focus on the flower it is moving toward.
Exposure is well managed, the colors and tones appear natural.
Nice detail on bees body.
Well composed and presented!
Best wishes to you in this contest!

Mark, Welcome to FanArt. Thi s is a wonderful capture of a bee in flight perusing a flower in its efforts to sip some nectar or gather some pollen. Nice lighting on the main attraction, which is in focus along with the flower.

First of all, welcome to FAR Mark and this is a corker of a first post I love it.

Super critics will comment negatively on the blurred wings. Personally, I think in this instance the wings motion promotes the impression of flight and adds significantly to the frames story.

What you have captured very accurately is what I look for first - a clear sharply focused head, thorax and abdomen. Second as much of the legs in focus as possible then the antennae.

The color reproduction looks natural and unenhanced.

You have a fine eye, and you know how to use your camera. I look forward with anticipation of reviewing future post.

this is a really good entry, so good luck... Bob

Beautiful pic for your first entry. Welcome to FAR and good luck in the contest. Great composition, framing, focus and dof. What lens were you using? You have a lovely country. Was there in 2008 with my son and we spent 10 days driving up the coast from Surfers Paradise to Cairns.

Hi Mark, Welcome to FAR! Love the flying bee heading for the flowers. I wish there was a little more lighting in the shot but otherwise I love it! Love that the focus is right on the bee and the small area she's headed for. I also like how the bee is at the top of the image. Very cool shot and fun to few. Wishing you luck for the contest! :o) Helvi
