Good concept, I like the colors, but the ripple effect of the water really puts me off - it's rough, not smooth like most of the other parts of this drawing. Don't give up though, it's cute, just needs some refinement.

lipstickatdawn, well I am not so sure I would stay away. I find this little guy to be quite delightful. I love his colours, and that wonderful blue of the sea as well. The plant also is very well done and a very effective addition to the work. Perhaps I might stay away from a "working model" but I am attracted to this creature. I am thinking that not far beneath that somewhat menacing look one would discover a fine-friendly-fish-friend.

Altho this is a very colorful fish; it is far from reakistic looking. you've doen a good job here but it is still very amaturistic.

I like the idea a lot. The rendering is too cartoonish for the idea though. If you had gone all the way and made it look real I would have loved it. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
