Your use of the medium is excellent. I think the composition is off in this painting though. the trees crossing right in the middle of the painting really pulls your eye. I am not sure if that is the focal point.....It would be better if it were not in the middle of the painting.

I like your composition of color within this piece portrayed with acrylic. What a serene shot to draw one into the throws of summer. The shadowing technique really adds a richness to the depth and presentation of your style of painting.

How pretty! I didn't know that we could upload pictures that large. I really like how your painting is so serene, and the long tree trunks add to the visual height. Your shadows are nice, and your clouds are subtle and calming. My favorite part is the light green tree. It has a feathery, splotchy look, and it's a nice addition to bring out the lushness of the grass. The only part that sort of confuses me is the teal/turquoise colored part in the right-hand side of the water. It can distract because the color jumps out at you as opposed to the natural colors of the trees and sky. Other than that, you've done a beautiful job. Landscapes seem to come naturally for you. Awesome job.

Good composition, well executed, colors look great as does the perspective. This would look great hanging in someone's den. :) Nice job.

jlarson, this is certainly an impressive painting. I admire it immensely, and I have just the right spot for it in my living room. It is a true joy to be able to view such a fin work and to comment on it. Thank you for this pleasure. I love the magnificent colours you have created and your realistic brush strokes. You have created a beautiful scene. There are three things I see as flaws. That swatch at the top-most right, doesn't seem to fit. Towards the centre, just at the shore-line, there's a "block" of white that's distracting. And, the patch of blue on the lake ends too abruptly at its right. Nevertheless, jlarson, it is a wonderful painting,
Peace, Papa

Very soft and apealing. I think you did a great job. I like the factthat it is not overly detailed. Keeping it simple works more often than not. Again nice work!
