I'm going to say you are looking up which would explain why its so bright at the top and not dark at the bottom, being B/W makes this an excellent photograph as well as the perception of depth, well done.

This is a very cool shot, and it has an Escher type of style to it because of the black and white. Excellent composition and framing, contrast looks good. Nice job!

toonboy, this is truly an exceptional photograph, with outstanding depth. Hope you didn't have to risk your life to get such an intriguing perspective. It seems to me somewhat unfortunate that the white rectangle at the bottom of the stairs is not more clearly defined, and that at the top left there is that distracting glare. But, really, a great image.
Peace, Papa.

It is a neat shot. The tones are great. I think it just needs a little more interest. Maybe someones hand on the rail a couple floors down. I look forward to seeing more.

Very kewl shot, toonboy. What a trip capturing the lines and light factors that make up this stairwell. I love your centered block of light that tunnels us back to the substance of the piece's entirety. I could stare at this for hours to make out the dimension and depth layered to create the illusion. Exceptional.
