LowRider, if I could, I think I'd have to rate this four and one-half. It is a wonderful photograph, very sharp and well composed and a great subject. It is most unfortunate that it's taken in such bright sun, which washes out some of the textures in that image. But, I can't bring myself to say Four Stars because I admire it too much.
Peace, Papa

nice capture of the ol' place, I like the texture in the log construction and the shadows add a little drama...a polarizing filter might have gotten more saturated colors in the roof and sky to really make the roof "pop"...

Great phot. Again the color, composition, and clarity are perfect I would not change a thing. The picture just draws you in and makes you want to hear a story of what life this old place has seen.

Too bad the roof of the home is almost the same color as the sky, it blends in too much. The details in the logs are get.

This is awesome...The one thing that hits me is the lack of contrast between the roof and the sky...they are so close in tone that the log house loses impact. The "story" behind the photo is a bonus!

You always find the most interesting places, LR. Nice shot here, good colors and great details shown. I bet this place has a lot of history behind it too. Oh, and the story was entertaining and humorous.

Very cool subject, and a nice little story to go along with the photo. The texture of the logs was captuted well and adds a lot to the image in my opinion. I also like the contrast of the barren land and weathered logs against the bright blue sky and colorful roof. Great find. -Joe

Amazing to think it's that old and still standing. Once long time ago there was life in there living the rough years. Probably many stories involved. Composition, focus, story telling, coloration all well arranged.

What a wonderful old cabin, I love how you get great detail of all the logs and in between...and that metal roof being a shade different from the sky.. lovely, can't wait to see the rest of your photos from this adventure..
