LOL @ "the conversation" - just read bio too - My older of two boys... long story. Looks like I swooped in too late to get you a ribbin' as number 15 reviewer got you a ribbon. The tree is cool and the Johnny Cash colored gard makes the Jack Black stand out. Jeff

Great photograph! I have yet to get myself a tripod, I better get myself one. You look very happy and natural in front of the camera. Great job!

Ok I have started a new rating system that will get more in-depth with judging. Please remember I am very very tough on ratings, not to just be mean, but I want to help fellow photographers improve and know what they need to do to make their work better. I will rarely give all 5

LOL!!! Yep, sent to her via e-mail, response, well, shix Debra, I ain't choosin' between doo rag and sunglasses!!!!!!!!!

Debra, good job with the tripod. In order to get a really good exposure, a light on the subject, which is you, you will have to use a fill flash. Good pose, nice background, a pretty woman for sure.
If your mom wants to take it to church you may want to eliminate the Jack Daniel's shirt. Please keep these coming.

With the notes, it's a ten. LOL, too funny. Sounds like my mom, totally miffed that I'm never in my own shots. I like the casual pose that establishes personality, the Daniel's attire, the glasses and flow of hair as well as the sideframing that makes this an enjoyable self-portrait. Quite a feat to get your setting established, check lighting, get situated into position, racing the timer and not forget to smile. The tree's a great backdrop, but, again, I have to admit, the documented exchange/conversation is what adds even more personality and character to the atmosphere of the shot. A fun piece.
