LowRider, tell me where to get this 27-cent gas and I'll give you a 5-star review! Oh fine, I'll give you 5 stars anyway, because it's a great subject, and I like how you've given a good sense of depth with the blurred background. I like the vertical framing, with the pump off-center, but the angle of the pump makes me want to see it to the right of center rather than to the left. Not positive about that though. Good work, and keep finding crap in peoples' yards, as it makes for great art. -Joe

LOL!! Thank you very much Joe!! I framed to the left because the hint of pine tree was the only other decent lookin' thing around otherwise probably would have framed like you said--

Boy, what I wouldn't give for gas prices to be that low again...(without the lead of course, [see the side of the gas pump "contains lead."] lol) Great work on this one, the colors are amazing, I like how you can clearly see how old this is by the rusty spots....Great work Deb!!

I am sure you never gassed up your wheels at 27-cents a gallon but I thing I may have in 63 or 4 time frame. This is nice old piece but somewhat reminds of the rust that fouled my carbs really bad! Some how , some way you seem to have the sun behind you when you shoot the good side of your subject. Very nice results and great addition to 'old crap' archives even through this "This Ain't 'Jist Old Crap'"

Nope, think the lowest was abour 45 cents, but I do remember the gas wars of the early 60's when Dad 'topped off the tank'. Thank you for your wonderful review!!

Remember way back then, twenty seven cents a gallon, seems like time has flashed on by!! Nice expressive photo and a good reminder to remember the good ol days! Nice photo with great focus and lighting! The only thing I would have done to make this photo better was to save some of that red Caboose paint for this shot! lol

Very nice capture of a nostalgic piece here, LR. You captured good colors in this old gas pump. The rich rusty hues and the green and brown earthy tones in the background are very striking. Very nice clarity as well.

Man, I don't think the cost was that low, even when I was a kid! The rust is good here, adding to the color and texture of the pump, the blurred background makes this sunny delight really standout against the darkness of the rear. Great view-Orion008.

I remember the price because my Dad owned a Gulf station but never pumped it at that price. Thank you so much Orion!!

Wish gas was still 27 cents a gallon. Good detail, Able to read the words on the pump. Good shallow depth of field the pump really stands out. Interesting shot

Nice photograph. I like the fact that the colors of the pump and the grass are almost the same. I wish gas was still .27, I paid 2.15 today.
