What a delightful interpretation! Very much a folk art piece and so detailed for work in pastels. I love the playfulness of the mood here and can almost smell the detergent on the wind. Good job!

Hey a great picture...lots of energy and movement, color and well balanced. The only thing I will say to the negative is, if the sun is that bright on the laundry and the buildings to the right are still in the suns rays...(which they are)..they should have more highlight. as the suns rays do not play favorites on whatever is in their path. The shadows would be more to the right and less well formed due to the height of the clothesline and the position of the sun. Its a great picture, and I love the surround. Real and full of life.

Thanks for your comments! I did the picture from a photograph and I think I stayed true to what was on the photo.....but your observations make a good point for sure!

Thanks for looking and for your comments! I loved doing this one, and am planning one of these days to do a whole series on "laundry".......but first I'll have to work up the nerve to go knocking on peoples' doors and asking if I can photograph the clothes hanging on their lines!

I like the use of color, and the stripes even in the laundry! Such detail out of an ordinary thing. Great job with this! Keep it up!

What a great drawing of an unusual subject, Joyart. I love the soft muted colors and the great background of old wooden houses. You are very talented.

joyart, I love this picture. You just don't know how many memories this brings back for me. When I was a little girl I used to help my mom hang out clothes. Thank you for the reminder of a simpler day.

:) What nice, softly schemed pastel touches. You have a great textural style to your artistry with a smooth presentation. Your two structures in the backdrop as well as the tree line and sky is a nice counter balance to the line of sight for your flowing clothes line that sustains dimension in this scene you portray. Your touches of rose hued, verdant green grass and play with light and dark, detailing and shading for shadowing effect give depth to this warm scene. I look forward to more of your work.
