INFORMATION
Born on Friday the 13th as Susan Bielat in St. Cloud, MN, I grew up with six brothers and sisters, living in the same home all my life with my parents. Soon after I married, age 22, life suddenly became a whirlwind. In our 31 years of marriage, Bill and I have lived in 13 different homes and 11 different locations, including Tokyo, Japan. Our only child, Lisha, was born in Edina, MN. Pre-Lisha, I was a receptionist, secretary, payroll clerk, computer room manager, bookkeeper, and an aerobics instructor. Then I chose to be a stay-at-home mom until Lisha entered first grade, at which time I finally attended college at SMU receiving a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Asian Studies, graduating in 2000. When Lisha started school at TNHS, both Bill and I decided to volunteer full-time at TNHS as well; Bill in internal finance, and I in the library. When Lisha graduated we both were offered full-time positions. This is now the end of my sixth year as a paid employee; however, I have essentially been doing the job for ten years. I love to travel, and have covered much of the United States, many countries in Europe, as well as traveling to New Zealand, Hong Kong, four times to Tanzania, as well as traveling to Italy and Sicily the summer our daughter graduated from Colgate University in 2009; it was the graduation gift of choice. She finally understands how lucky she is to be an only child.

My interest in photography began when I married this wonderful man who came with this amazing canon camera, lenses, filters, tripod (all things a poor girl from St. Cloud MN had never seen before) and was simply itching to play with. And, of course, Bill was a natural born teacher. Then when I went to SMU, I took a couple of photography courses as my electives (one of which was at their campus in Taos, New Mexico - hard work, but someone had to do it). And the story just continued. My love of the camera just keeps growing daily.
