INFORMATION
A long time literary and art publicist, Sandra adores photography which allows her to communicate her observations, feelings and sensibilities with images vs words. Each artist carries an ache; "photography provides relief from mine," says Sandra; "the camera is my violin."

sandralee: I am starting to understand that most people want to photograph what is inherently pretty -- be it person, place or thing. I like to photograph what for me is "real." I have tried to break myself from searching for pretty. Pretty doesn't matter to me anymore. Funny how our tastes and observations change.

DeeZ: You're right Sandra, on here its become far to focused on a certain type or style of photo and a monotonous expectation that every "light" area is "blown out", all photos must be in "sharp focus" etc. Where is the artistry....oh I know, its on Redbubble....where I'm spending more and more time and a whole lot less money!

Painter_Of_The_Sky: What the heck is redbubble deez??? is it a bluebubble or a purplebubble??

briansintransit: Hi sandra i think as you get older your tastes change, that applies to life as well as other things, i try to observe things and subjects more now than i either did when i was younger, thats why i find photography so interesting, it makes you observe life more

marieann green: Have always thought that photo journalism afforded one the most artistic opportunities. As fiction can never compare with reality, so another flower cannot compare with real life. Appreciate and agree with the thoughts.....

marieann green: By the way, does this mean that we all have to post our portfolio photos sans makeup and first thing in the morning???? I MEAN, REAL IS REAL! JOKING.

burning-orange: Sandralee I agree with two of your points that we should be brave enough to photograph things that aren't necessarily pretty. I think the topics we photograph help define us and that we should each be working on our own variety of topics.. Brian's comment on photography being about observing is apt. I would add that our photos should not be a simple reaction to what we see but a calculated response.

Rivergirl51: I understand completely what you are saying. Some people don't see the beauty in the "unpretty", but, they also don't see the ugly in the "pretty."

4 I AM: Very eye catching work-the right place at the right time equals the right shot-with the right eye!

4 I AM: Was reading your bio again, and had a realization. When i was younger-fit and full of energy, i was complimented all the time, despite my many flaws. Now i'm older 40lbs overweight [working on it], not a word, and far less flaws[still got some though]. I see beauty differently as well, though i'd like to be fit with few flaws.

jalemyca.jack: I really like your work and feel it aways has a touch of gentleness in it.Try a lower angle on some of your shots, it might take out some of the unwanted background. Just a point
