Images of Joy was started in 1992. She got her first camera by selling garden seeds at age 12. She is married to a farmer and they live along the East Fork of the Grand River in NW MO. They have 15 grandkids and 16 great-grandkids. She studied a home photography course in the 1990's,then earned a Graphic Artist degree in 2004. She was a Tri-Chem Embroidery Paint Instructor for over 20 years and was designing t-shirts for her kids before t-shirts became popular. She did workshops on painting with velvet, wood, fabric and glass. She writes poems and inspirational articles and has published two books, Mushroom Marathon and Streams of Poetry. She is editing the next one called Rainbows of Joy. Images of Joy uses a digital Kodak Z915 camera (10X Optical Zoom) for her photography today. Some of her photos were taken with other 35MM cameras, like Canon, Sony and Olympus. The Sony was her favorite because it took panorama pictures. She tries to be as creative as she can with her camera. She thinks some pictures are compromised by using the scanner to get them into the computer. People have been complimenting her photos for a long time, and she is glad she found FAR so she could learn more about what makes a good photographic image.

Made myself a bouquet of iris buds and wiegela buds because I knocked them off accidentally while working in flower beds today. We'll see if they open up. Some stems need special care for bouquets. Iris need burned on the end where its cut. Woody stems need crushed with pliars to take up water. That's federated garden club info I learned while attending flower show school. Its nice to have them last longer when properly cared for after they are cut.

Picked a bouquet of daffodils for a friends birthday bouquet. They are lovely and the wind died down.

hekartstudio : I also did the same. Daffs are beautiful flowers and herald the rite of Spring. Enjoy the season-HEK

I just took a break from reviewing and went for a walk by the pond south of the house. A blue heron flew up into a tree branch on the other side of the pond. They don't usually stay here in midwest. I did not take my camera with me. Darn! I was too tired to walk back to the house and return, figured he'd be gone by that time. But he was still there, I can see him from the deck on the east side of the house. Maybe he will stick around awhile. I pray that he does.

Been gone on a 3,000 mile trip the past week. Got a few good photos in places where I never expected. Found out my camera would do something I did not think it would. Was just playing around with it and tried new things while moving in the car.

I went to the cell phone place today. Hanging on the wall were many nostalgic photos printed on canvas and so restful while the clerk was working on my phone. Love looking at others photography like here on FAR. It is everywhere if we just notice.

Echo7 : Try calibrating your monitor. If you have a mac there will be a program built in to do it. If its windows you can download a free one =D

ImagesofJoy : I have the old style monitor, takes up lots of space on the desk. Not sure what you mean.

I am excited, I just bought a regular photo scanner. Am sure it will work better than my larger HP scanner bed. It has a good editing program with it.

I am having so much fun reviewing people's photos, that I am dreaming about it. It really helps to see what other people capture on film.
