He has just reached his 76th year and has been taking photo's for 65 of those years.
His first PROPER camera was a Pentax S1a,then a ES2. Various models followed the last being the LX model which had a adjustable view finder that could be used as a standard or waist level finder.
In the 80s he lost favour with the Pentax brand,Auto focus was coming in and Pentax were getting left behind. He sold or part exchanged all his gear and changed to Canon; a brand he still use.
When Digital came in he grasped it with both hands..Once again he has used vaious bodies until he bought the Canon 7D earlier this year.
He has been a member of several Camera Clubs in the U.K. He has served on their comittee's and done his fair share of judging the club competitions.
Regarding this site he will he hopes give a fair review of the images he sees and give help where he can but can only comment on the image as it is presented, and not any emotional connection it has for it's author. He is unlikely to review Paintings as he thinks it unfair to judge a 3D subject in a 2D medium.
In this digital age he will have to assume members have some sort of editing software.
