INFORMATION

I started in Photography as a way to get more exercise. I quickly fell in love with it. My Mrs. bought me a Pentax k20D for our anniversary a couple of years ago and I've been Shooting like a maniac ever since. I have been very fortunate to learn quickly from some extraordinary photographers, real masters of the trade that keep me humble. I started with Nature shots, which led me to Macro photography. I learned about DoF and F-Stop adjustments to increase focus. I added a Raynox 250, as a lens addon, and eventually learned about Focus Stacking to increase DoF on extreme macro shots. I use CombineZ, although some of the better photographers use Zerene Stacker(I just haven't found the time to look into it). Then I got involved in HDR photography. Which taught me how to do exposure adjustment and bracketing. I use Photomatix for software. I got pulled into high-speed photography from the beauty of water drop collisions and eventually I did some ballistic high speed. Just 17 and 22cal pellet rifle, no real bullets since its all shot inside my Florida condo. This taught me a lot about flashes and timing(and patience). I learned how to shoot in complete dark with the shutter open to allow the flash to become the shutter speed. I bought 2 YN460-II Flashes(cheap HongKong stuff but fast) and eventually added a Stophot module to control millisecond timing. I shot over 30,000 Photos in my first year. So the law of averages explains why I occasionally get a good shot. I am always happy to share any of the knowledge I have acquired and I'm thankful that so many others did the same for me.

Just a note so you can understand my thinking. I was taught by very purist, traditional photographers. Many that went back to film days. Editing the content of a photo outside of light-room type edits was almost forbidden. Cloning was an absolute no no. I understand that this site is very different in its thinking i am trying to find a balance, but if you see something in a photo that you think should have been cloned out, you are probably right, but the training is deeply entrenched. Please be patient with me.
